Course Designer
Kai-Steffen Meier

Born and raised in Germany, Kai-Steffen Meier developed a passion for horses and eventing from an early age. Immersed in the sport since childhood, he received a solid education in equestrianism, training with some of Germany’s leading professionals and gaining valuable experience in both national and international competitions.

His sporting career led him to the German Championships and into the German Sports Army (Bundeswehr), where he was able to further refine his riding and athletic skills. Through years of dedicated training and the development of talented young horses, Meier quickly established himself among the national elite.

A key milestone in his early career was winning the U25 Series, followed by numerous successes up to CCI5* level at major international events. After completing his studies in Hamburg and Oldenburg, he spent several years training under Olympic rider Andreas Dibowski before founding his own business.

Since then, he has produced and competed a wide range of horses up to the Bundeschampionat and international levels. Together with his wife, Belgian Olympian Lara de Liedekerke-Meier, he runs the prestigious Arville Equestrian training centre in Belgium.

Today, Meier focuses not only on riding but also on coaching and the development of riders, as well as on his role as Team Manager for the Belgian senior eventing team. Under his guidance, the team celebrated victory at the 2023 Nations Cup in Arville and successfully qualified for the Paris Olympic Games.
